So here's the story ... Linda said the dog cost her $2,800 and they don't want to give her away for free. They are looking to sell her for $1,500 ... and I was only planning on paying $500. So it looks like I won't be able to get Daisy.
The only slightly good news is that another co-worker, Nicole (who is a total sweetheart), was interested in getting a Yorkie for a long time but hasn't yet because she just got engaged. So I told her about Daisy but she said her fiance was only willing to spend about $1,000 on the dog. So I offered to pay the $500 if she was willing to pay the rest. She said that she's going to speak to her fiance and see what he says and then get back to me and Linda. So let's hope for the best.
Nicole is nervous because it sounds like Daisy has been seriously neglected (health wise and socalization wise) and she doesn't know her temperament. So what I told her I'd do is, when I get back from Idado (I will be gone from September 2nd and return on the 12th -- my sister-in-law is getting married), I will help her with the socalization part. But if she does take the dog in the meantime, Daisy will beed to be checked by a vet ASAP, spayed eventually and check her teeth. She will probably need all her shots too.
So I will continue to keep you guys updated. Hopoefully Nicole and her fiance will save this little girl. |
That is so sad that after all the owners HAVEN'T done for her, they still want to make money off of her. Its a hard situation but you've stuck with it. $500 is more than most people would pay for a dog they can't keep. That's great about Nicole so keep us posted on that. Thanks for being such a good person Jen

Daisy sure is lucky to have you on her side.
