My favorite of all time is The Fountainhead by Ann Rand. Not a light read but it really made me reevaluate my own values and the way they are formed. Great, great book! I actually read A LOT! 2-3 books a week. I really like Dean Koonz so sorry to hear you're not liking it much. I read a lot of Florida authors. Anything by Carl Hiassan or Tim Dorsy will have you laughing out loud. Right this minute I'm reading (FL author) James W. Hall's Hard Aground. He writes mysteries and they're always good fast reads. WHen I'm really in a vapid mood I love Sophie Kinsella. She writes hillarious books about women that are super fast reads. Even if you don't love reading, if you are a girly girl you'll love her.
Had to edit to include one of my very favorite FL authors who I forgot- Randy Wayne White
