Give 'em the whole tablet.... The medication is injected *somewhere* into it, but there's no way to know for sure where it is. If you divide the pill up, the dog might not get any wormer at all and then you'll be putting them at risk.
My pup is a little under 3.5lbs and gets the "up to 25lb" Heartgard dose. She's been on it since she was 6 months old and we've never had a problem.
If you're still concerned about it, ask about getting Interceptor instead of Heartgard. Interceptor has a 1-10lb dose instead of the "up to 25lbs". |
