I'm so glad I read this post! I didn't think about them losing teeth and I would have panicked if I saw his tooth on the floor. My vet would have thought "what a kook" when I ran in with him and his tooth as an emergency!

I give Max baby carrots from the fridge to chew on as well as peeled, cold pieces of apple. I have to try the ice. Someone told me to get him a teething ring, but there are enough made especially for dogs. Try a wet piece of toweling and freeze it also - although I stopped that because now he thinks all towels are his. There's also a toy called ? (I just went to look for it and, of course can't find it) that you wet and freeze and it stays wet and cold for a long while.
