I'm a certified elementary teacher. I worked in an inner-city public school and hated it! It was only first grade and I had to have give kids suspensions. I even called the police on one of my students for an attch he made against me. He was very angry and violent.
I quit that job and work part time at a small preschool two days a week Sept thru May. We have lots of holidays in between too. The atmosphere is the opposite of my previous job. I also babysit for a family a few days a week.
I love being just PT compared to FT. I quit the FT job when I became a mom. I have two beautiful girls adopted from Russia. I adopted Anna in Nov 2004 when she was 10 yo and Alena just this past June at age 9 yo. They, plus baby yorkie Sadie (4 mos), keep me pretty busy. It's nice not to have to worry about my job when I come home. |
