You should definitely get her to an eye specialist right away. If they act fast, there are things they can do. My toy poodle lost sight in one eye because of an accident with a German Shepherd. My dog totally provoked the big one but the German Shep. had been around my poodle since it was a baby and always would let him have his way. One time though, Dax (my poodle) tried to take a bone away from Sam (the Shepherd) and after Sam let him do it a few times and take it back from Dax, he finally had enough I guess and gave Dax what I'm sure he thought was just a little nip of a warning. Well, his tooth punctured the top of Daxton's head and nicked the nerve that goes to the back of the eyeball. Dax's eye was bulging out.... it was so scary! Our vet told us that we would have to wait and see how much damage there was but after a week or so, the eye started to shrink. It was definitely "dead". We live close to Texas A&M (vet school) so our vet recommended taking Dax to an eye dr. there. They were able to do surgery and save the eyeball. A little gross description here so look away if you don't want to read it.... ..... they took the eyeball out, scooped out the "dead stuff" and put a prosthetic piece in the eyeball. Then they closed it up, put in back in and anchored it in somehow. From then on, Dax always looked like he had a cataract on it because it was gray instead of brown but wasn't nearly as obvious as if we would have had to have his eye sewn shut! He was only about 8 months old and I just couldn't see him living with his eye socket sewed up. That prosthetic eye lasted and did very well for the rest of his 15 years!

Don't mean to go on about my experience but I do want you to know that there are other options besides sewing it shut.

Please let us know how it all turns out and give that baby a hug from me and Tatum!!
