I didn't read all the replys, so if I am repeating something already said, I appologize. I never wean my pups from Mamma at 4 weeks. Supplementing mother's milk with another milk doesn't sound like a good idea to me if she is still producing. The natural way is better. She will let the pups know when they should be done weaning. Don't go cold turkey on weaning or the mamma may end up very sore or even worse. Pups should never go to new homes at 6 weeks. Some people think if they can eat on their own it is time to go. There are more reasons than nursing to keep them longer than that.
