I hope your little girl is doing ok now. You might want to save this info just in case you need it sometime:

CALL VET FIRST ON ALL TREATMENTS TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM

VITAMIN B12----Used as appetite stimulant
1/2 to 2 ml every 24 hrs. ORAL

BENADRYL-----Used to treat allergies, itching etc.
1/2 mg per lb. weight of dog. Every 8 hrs.
YORKIE: 1/4 to 1/2 tablet, one hr. on empty
stomach.

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE 3%-
Used to induce vomiting after accidental
ingestion of poison. 3-5 ml by mouth every
30 mins. DO NO MORE THAN TWICE!

PEPTO BISMOL-Used for diarrhea, vomiting & anti-gas
1 teaspoon per 5 lbs. weight of dog.
Every 6 hrs.
YORKIE: 3 to 5 cc.

DI GEL LIQUID-Used for antacid and anti-gas
Up to 4 lbs. weight of dog. every 8 hrs.

MINERAL OIL--Used for eliminating constipation.
up to 4 lbs. weight of dog, daily, mix
with food. Child's dose of Milk of Magnesia
is perfered.

KAOPECTATE---Used for diarrhea and vomiting.
1 ml per lb. weight of dog,
Every 2-4 per day
YORKIE: 3cc to 5cc

KARO SYRUP---Used for Trauma or energy.
YORKIE: 3cc

NUTRA CAL----Used for energy or vitamin supplement.
YORKIE: 2 to 3 cc every 4 hrs. 3 times daily
max.

IMMODIUM AD--Used for diarrhea
1-2 ml per 4 lbs. weight of dog.
Every 2-3 daily.

ELIXER FOR CHILDREN-
Used for colds.
1 ml per 10 lbs. weight of dog.
1/2 for 5 lbs. weight of dog.

DIMEATAPP,ROBATUSSIN CF, CLORTIMATRON-
Used for colds.
YORKIE: 1 to 1 1/2 cc.

DON'T GIVE ASPRIN OR BABY ASPIRIN OR TYLENOL UNLESS BY VET!

TO FIGHT BACTERIAL INFECTION:
AMOXICILLIN: 5 mg per 1 lb. weight of dog.
Every 12 hrs.
AMPICILLIN: 10 mg per lb. weight of dog.
Every 6 hrs.
TETRACYCLINE: 10mg per lb. weight of dog.
Every 8 hrs. NOT TO GIVE TO PUPPY. CAN
DAMAGE TEETH.

5ml= 1 teaspoon
EAR CLEANER VINEGAR 1/2 AND WATER 1/2

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

WHEN DO I CALL THE VET
1. Temp is over 104 degrees
2. Bloating
3. Extreme Trauma
4. Repetitive Seizures or seizure lasting more than
5 minutes
5. In labor over 1 hr. with no pup or more than 2
hrs between pups.
6. Repetitive Vomiting after food and water has been
taken away for 2 hrs.
7. Bloody diarrhea associated with depression
8. Puppies and Kittens problems.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
1. Protect yourself
2. Look and Listen (check for breathing and heart beat)
3. Stop the bleeding by applying pressure.
4. Treat for Shock (warm blanket)
5. Call the VET

TOP 10 EMERGENCY LISTS


1. Bloat----usually a few hours after feeding dog
will often try to vomit but brings up
little. Abdomen will usually feel tense
may not be distended.
2. HEAT STROKE-Check Temp if over 104 apply cool
water bath and fans continue to do so until
temp. is 103 then stop. If over 106 do
above and go to vet. But best to wrap in
wet towel and get to your Vet. Recomended!
3.FRACTURES-Follow above protocol-may also want to
stabilize fractures.
4.WHELPING- Prepare ahead of time-you knew she was
pregnant.
5.SEIZURES--Watch and time the seizure make sure pet
does not hurt itself.if longer than 5 min.
start driving.
6.POISON--- Read Label induce vomiting Call VET, bring
the poison.
7.Hives-- Benadryl 1 mg per pound Oatmeal bath,
watch breathing.
8.Vomiting- No Food for at least 24 hours then No water
for 12 hours then ice cubes to lap up as
they melt. Give Pepto.
9. DIARRHEA- NO FOOD for 12 hours, Immodium AD, the bland Diet
10.BROKEN NAIL- Hold dog well (muzzel) clip nail
then clip all the nails. Stop bleeding with
Quick stop, flour or baking powder.

HOT Spot-Clip and clean with peroxide.
Hydrocortisone OKAY.
