That makes sense to me.............
In the meantime, perhaps you could ask your Vet about a glucosamine/chrondroitin supplement. Since the canine knee is almost identical in structure to the human knee and you said she favors it going up the stairs....I would assume it is painful.
Just imagine your knee popping in and out of the socket........ouch!
