When I had Oscar neutered, I insisted that I pick him up that evening and he come home with me, where he would be MUCH more comfortable - it didn't make sense to me to leave him there when NO ONE was going to be in the office with him, he would just be in a strange place along, wondering what was going on. I thought it was bad enough that he had to go through the surgery, I wasn't going to make it worse on him by leaving him alone - that's just me though - I was a big boob just leaving him there for the day!
My vet was absolutely fine with me picking him up - they just scheduled a follow-up appointment for the next day to check him out. Maybe you can do the same? |
