I can't fully answer all your questions as I am still learning myself. I can tell you what I have learned and if I am wrong, someone please feel free to correct me.
Usually when weaning puppies, once they are a certain age, right around when the start getting their baby teeth in, the mother dog will no longer let them nurse.
At this time you should have them on a puppy mush, food mixed with water and heated up so it is warm.
I have no idea what weetbix is but you should not give them cow milk when you are weaning them, they should be on their puppy food. Never give cow's milk in the first place, to puppies or adult dogs, it will upset their stomach and give them diararea (sp?). If you were to ever give them milk, it would either have to be a puppy formula from a store or goat's milk.
And 6 weeks is Waaaayyyyy to young to let them leave for their new homes. They need to be ATLEAST 10 weeks old, 12 weeks is the best for them. |
