We haven't taken ours swimming, per se, but they do have a little wading pool in our backyard that they like to hop in and out of when it's hot outside. We don't have enough water in there for them to actually swim in, though. I know I've seen pictures of other yorkies swimming in lakes and pools on here. You might try searching the forum for some threads about it.
