I never said that a puppy needs sugar "daily" to keep healthy. I said that if you bring home a new puppy and it is under 12 weeks old and/or is not eating enough or not at all, then you need to give it something to prevent a hypoglocemic attack, i.e. NutriCal/NutriStat/Kyro. The person who started this thread had a 7 week old puppy. At that age, a puppy's liver can't store energy for long periods of time, especially with additional stress factors like bringing it into a new home. Thus, I recommended supplementing.
