I think Lorraine should be commended for offering her input regarding the $2500. puppy. Unfortunately yorkies are very popular right now and some people are making big bucks selling pups. Of course a seller can set any price and a buyer can pay it. In many cases "a fool and his money are soon parted". But, as show breeders and exhibitors we find it offensive when someone represents a pup as a show prospect when in fact it's way too young to establish the potential. And the worst looking pets can come out of Ch. bloodlines so pedigree isn't a guarantee of quality. Especially if only one half of the pedigree is well bred. And it does take an experienced breeder or exhibitor to even evaluate a pups show potential.
Again, Lorraine is just trying to share information so an unsuspecting buyer won't part with a large sum of money only to find the quality of the puppy does not meet expectations. |
