I can understand your frustrations with the vet for doing this without asking you first but....as others have mentioned, the hair in the eyes is what can lead to irritation and infections. After a couple trips to my vet with Gabby years ago with drainage and infection, getting drops and so forth, I now keep the hair around her eyes trimmed. She's much happier and we have no more infections, just normal tearing from the eyes.

As for your baby, he's absolutely ADORABLE!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures
