Hmmm...that's kinda strange if he had been groomed regularly before. Does he have any cuts or bruises or something like that that may have been hurting him while they were messing/grooming him? Or maybe the groomers at petsmart hurt him or scared him or something and that caused him to act up there and the behavior just continued on over to the vets?

How does he do with you? Try brushing him and maybe even getting some clippers out and trying running them down him while they are on. You can use the handle, just so he feels the vibration.
