It does sound like reverse sneezing, but I just wanted to mention that it could also be tonsillitis, as that's what my Maddie had and it seemed a lot like reverse sneezing. Is your dog acting ill at all...when not doing this snorting? If he has tonsillitis, he would be acting sick and probably not eating. Next time he does it, cover his nostrils with your fingers and it should make him take a breath through his mouth and he should stop snorting...if that works, it is most likely reverse sneezing, and like Alaskayorkie said, it is harmless.
