Default Chancey the Shelter Dog...the saga continues..

I went to visit "Chancey", the Yorkie that member ffincher(sp) found on Petfinder. The cliff's notes of the story was this: TxYorkieMama from Dallas was going to adopt him and was told she could have him after he was neutered. Kim, the rescue organization foster mom could not get ahold of her after trying for days, so it looked like Pattie on YT was going to get him. To complicate things further, I called Kim to see what all was going on (I live 20 minutes away from Kim and Chancey) and said I would adopt him in a minute if we couldn't get him another home. I really did not want to "steal" him from another member...I felt Pattie had dibs and should get first shot at him. Kim asked me to come meet him because she said he was very aggressive with her Akita mix (big dog), but he played fine with her cats. She didn't know how he would do with little dogs so suggested I bring one of my Yorkies. By the way, she calls the yorkie "Clancy", us YTrs coined him "Chancey".
She really wanted him to go to a local home, so was pretty excited to meet us. I was thinking that I could even foster for Pattie until she could come down for him...but if he bonded with my two..maybe he could stay.

Scout and I arrived at Kim's house. I had Scout on his harness and leash, Kim welcomed us in the house and we went to the backyard to meet Chancey. Chancey came running up to Kim happily, then noticed Scout an immediately went comakazie yorkie and jumped on Scout like he was going to tear him limb from limb! Of course, we immediately reacted and I picked up Scout and held him. Kim's big dog came around and Chancey also attacked her(the Akita) and got into a fight. We talked for a few more minutes and I tried putting Scout down in another area and as soon as Chancey noticed him, he went dog aggressive/obsessive on him again. We sat and talked for several minutes, Kim held Scout while I tried to get to know Chancey a bit. I let him come over and sniff me, without trying to touch him or anything. He even climbed in my lap and gave me a kiss. He was being such a little sweetie! I put Scout in the car for a minute to get my camera and take some pictures of Chancey. (Don't worry, it was actually cooler today and he was actually safer away from Chancey!) He was a little sweetheart! Kim and I went back to my car and were talking about Chancey and how he would be a wonderful ONLY dog...king of the castle, so to speak. I felt that I could not put my dogs at risk, it would not be fair to them to take on a dog aggressive/obsessive, even though I felt he really could get over this issue with lots of teaching, patience, correction...Before you all get mad at me for not taking him...I know my limitations...This guy would take weeks, months..of one on one help and it would not be fair to my well-adjusted dogs to have to deal with that. If I could stay home full time and work with him, I might consider taking him on...but I just can't. Just being honest. That said, Chancey would make an absolutely wonderful only dog. He's so cute. He's about 7 pounds...maybe 8. I'm putting pics up next that you will enjoy!
