update: muffie had 5 puppies. all looks very healthy. 4 girls and 1 boy. at first muffie didn't have anything to do with them but then mother nature took over and now she won't leave them. we have a vet appt this morning and once i get back, i will upload pictures.
what i did learn is let the mother do everything.
