Default Possibly Cause Urinary Tract Infection

I recently moved to a new job and can no longer come home at lunch to let the dog out. She now stays inside alone for about 8 or 9 hours straight during the day.

She is EXCELLENT when it comes to house training and will absolutely not go in the house. Even if I get home late from work (10-12 hours) she still will not have gone.

I've gotten some pee pads and have tried to encourage her to go in the house (wood floors so not a huge deal) but she simply won't.

Since I've had her (1.5 yrs) I've always let her out every 4 or 5 hours. The vet had told me it's possible to develope UTI from holding it in too long because of her size. She's 5 pounds.

Does anyone else's dog (of the same size) go every 8-10 hours regularly? Anyone have problems occur from this type of behavior?

I'm not sure if I shoudl be overly worried about this, and try harder to train her to go inside - as ironic as that is!!!

TIA!
