How old is she? I started mine the day they came home. They didn't really need it that bad, but I would use the back side of the brush so they would get use to something just going along their backs and side. I did this of a morning and evening. After a few days I turned the brush over and started using it the correct way. Just a little at a time. I've not had trouble with any of mine ever for grooming.
