My cat, toy poodle and little Abbey are crate trained. They all have wonderful large crates. Now, however, only Abbey stays in her crate when we are gone. She doesn't seem to mind a bit. She also sleeps in it at night. She starts out in our bed with the others and at 10pm I put her in her crate for the night and she goes right to sleep. When we are gone to work, we put the crate in the living room, add toys, food and water. Turn on the tv and say good bye. It just has not been a problem for us. I agree with what another said about not taking her out when she cries or whines. Also, I read that making a big deal about leaving is a mistake. Just leave. I had to do that with our birds. They would scream when I left. Now, I just say I'll be back and leave. They are much quieter, now. Good luck.
