A person must be dedicated to training. Sure it's hard work, but pays off very quickly if you don't give up. Maggie is 11 weeks old and is crate trained. She doesn't have accidents in the house and goes to the door when she needs to go out. She is also on a very strict feeding schedule. Believe me, I learned all this the hard way. They can blink those big brown eyes at you and your heart melts. That is when you have to buckle down and stick with the training. Don't let them have their way, or you will pay dearly.
I am sorry but I have to disagree. My yorkie is pee pad trained but mostly goes outside. Also training new puppy on pee pads. I find this is a necessity as I live in Nevada and just a few months ago we had about 4 feet of snow, no way to take my dog out. I also live near mountains and the wind has knocked down fences in this area, which is to say it can be horribly windy and if it is knocking down a fence it will certainly take my little pups.
So in my case, backup training on a pee ped is definately necessary.
