Well I'm not sure how to respond to some of the posts. First off I'm not a breeder nor do i plan to become one but the friend of mine who has the new puppy also is in close contact to the breeder of her first yorkie who is a responsible breeder she is very good friends with this lady(no i do not know her name) she has wanted to have a litter but always had a male so this is something she is considering also no we are not just going to throw 2 dogs in a room let them go at it and hope for the best. I have learned a lot here so i am aware of the risks complications and responsibilities i didn't say yes i am going to breed him rather i was contemplating it. I love Peeka and his well being comes far before my need or want for another puppy. If he or the female are not up to the breed standard when they are of age to breed then no i wouldn't even consider breeding them. I am 100% confident that if she were not able to get a puppy to a home that was responsible she would keep the puppy or i would be more than happy to purchase it from her. I don't plan to make a career out of this I'm not expecting money i don't want to make back what i have spent on Peeka I'm not a BYB i just absolutely love this breed and i have a chance to have another puppy from a so far wonderful dog whom i have completely fallen in love with. He is my first Yorkie and right now he is only 14 weeks old but because i am inexperienced i thought it would be an excellent opportunity to ask about it. This would not even be an option for at least 2 years. I thank you all for positive advice and i do thank you all for the bad aspects of breeding. But please don't judge me like I'm some BYB trying to make a quick buck or looking to just throw 2 dogs together to get a puppy. Thanks again. |
