When I started Otis on potty pads he was around 4 months old. I bought the spray and sprayed the pads until he got the hang of it. My Oliver,(shih-poo) started right when I brought him home. They have a designated room with potty pads and I make hiking posts out of empty 2 liter bottles filled with water. I wrap another potty pad around the bottle and secure with rubber band. They do sometimes mistake rugs in other rooms for pads. I have learned to not put rugs down in the rest of my house.
