Amy,

I am sorry for what you are going through. I know that you have made a very hard decision in your home about Daisy. I will also say that sometimes in life we have to make selfless decisions. In my opinion your decision came out the what is best for Daisy. You mentioned she is not comfortable in your home and for that reason she needs to be with an older couple that could be with her all day and no children.
Amy this will be long but I am going to tell you how I ended up with Phoebe.
I did not go out looking to buy a Yorkie. I knew a family that had 3 very very active boys. One day they went to the pet store and saw this litttle itty bitty puppy, and guess what? With out knowing anything about the breed bought it. Besides the boys being in what I call permanent overdrive all the time, they also traveled alot and did alot of camping ect. Where did this leave Phoebe? At the kennel. So after they had her for about 1 year I said that I would be happy to puppy sit her when they were gone. I should also mention that Phoebe would not eat for them, she went to bathroom in their house( I think they were just to busy to remember), she would hide and not come out unless someone came to the door.
This is really how it worked Phoebe usually ended up with me for 2 weeks every month. During the time she was with me she ate, my family often joked about what a little pig she was. I would get some weight on her and then she would go back and lose the weight, because she would not eat. After 2 years of this they called me and said that Phoebe is so much happier when she is with you. Would you like to have her permanently? Of course I said yes! They also requested that she be able to come and visit with them from time to time. When Phoebe came to me full time you could feel every single rib, every point of every vertabrae in her back. She was not healthy, her hair could not grow. Anyways, I got weight on her her hair started growing and growing and growing. The previous family did request to see her and it was always the same, she would refuse to eat, ect. I knew it was not in her best interest to have her go, but what do you do? They were her previous owners and that is what we agreed on. In July Phoebe very unexpediately passed away and my heart was literally ripped out of my chest.
Sorry this is so long, but I wanted you to know that good things can happen for daisy. But, take your time in finding her a home. You know what her issues are. I would look for someone that has previous experiance with the breed.
I wish you the best and you are not a bad person for doing what is right for Daisy.
