Hi it is possible he is just horny but I would have her checked anyway.
Some signs you can watch for are temperature, if she has a fever, also if she is drinking an unusually large amount of water and off food. Those can be symptoms of an infection.
With my one girl that had an open pyo she had no symptoms like that but my boys were after her. This was almost three months after being in heat and I checked to see if she had come into heat again so soon.
I found a smelly discharge instead, phoned the Vet right away, thank goodness it was daytime and they were open. I took her in and he put her on Clavamox antibiotic first for a couple of days as it was draining. It was less risky for her to be onthem for a few days first before he actually did the spay.
On a closed pyo, they have to take the risk and get in there right away.
Anyway, it likely wouldn't be a bad idea to have her checked out tomorrow given she was in season a few months ago.
