Is the preventative medication for Giardia? I thought they were only medicated if they contracted it? Did the stool sample show traces of it? Giardia is a common parasite. It can be asymptomatic or it can wreak havoc in their system causing lots of diarrhea. They can pick it up from another dog's poop, from bird poop (simply walking where it was and licking their feet) and from standing water.
