There's nothing to teach LOL My Max new how to get the water out of the water bottle by simply licking the stick. That's the only way I give him water now because if I give him water in a bowl, he tends to drink it too quickly and immediately throws it up.

I have water bottles all over the yard now LOL Its great for me and Max knows no other way to drink water.
