Is it possible that she needs to go out and no one is there to let her out? That's why we still leave Loki in his crate if we are gone for a while. He is used to someone letting him out as soon as he rings his bell since someone is almost always home with him. When we leave him alone, we crate him, eliminating any chance for accidents :-) Plus, he just sleeps in his crate and I think he feels safer in there.
