I think it all depends what State you live in and if you have property to park it on... or live someplace it has to be parked on the street.

Where I live now you can park a car in your property and not have it tagged. I did this for 6 months with my Saab. Once I decided to start using it again when gas prices soared..... I just got the insurance reinstated. YES the battery was dead because I hadn't used it in forever but no bigger. I went to K mart and got a $25 new battery to start fresh instead of jumping it.
My hubby is always whining why don't I sell the darn thing but I tell him it wouldn't bring much money and having the spare car was way more valuable then getting like $1000 or LESS if we sold it. Now that gas has SOARED I'm glad I saved the old thing.......LOL ,It gets 25 miles a gallon and my SUV gets 12 miles to the gallon.

By the way..... If you have no place to park it.... maybe a friend has someplace you can. We park ours behind our shed ...LOL... not in the front yard.... and don't forget if you keep it to start it once in awhile and never let the dang grass grow underneath it or it will rust out underneath
