Default Matching Puppies

Matching actually is a method of stimulating a dog to have a bowel movement. It is commonly used to prevent a show dog from having an accident in the ring, but is also good for some potty training. It consists of using a paper match-the type from matchbooks, much tidier than enemas!
With the puppy in its pottying area on lead, take a paper match from the book, wet the sulphur end in your mouth-won't poison you-then gently insert it in the puppie's rectum, about half an inch on an upward slope. Having it there will encourage the puppy to squat to poop, hopefully with success. If it doesn't work, put her back in her crate/pen or whatever you use, and try her again in an hour or so. Unless she has a blockage-and she would be in pain if she did, this will work sooner or later. When it does, praise her to the heavens, give her a small treat and make sure she pees before going in.
It doesn't usually have to be done much, but iit can help regulate the puppie's schedule, so that her bowels are empty before bedtime.
Let me know how it goes. (No pun intended!)
