So I haven't been staying at my parents house for the past year. I was staying at my boyfriends, but my furniture and room was still at my parents house. It took Gizmo the longest time to get over that I'm not there anymore. MY parents tell him "Go night night" and he would go and lay by my door. Finally after a few months, he realized he needed to go to my sisters room, but would still go there and at 1-2am start barking to be let out of there. He got broke of that habit and was sleeping in her room fine. Well now that I'm in my new house, my sister moved into my new room. Gizmo won't go in their since my furniture is gone, and definitly won't sleep in there. The day we closed on our house my mom said he moped around the whole day...he had no idea we were closing that day though..how would a dog understand that? I guess they do. I feel so bad for him because I'm not there anymore. My mom and I are his "favorites". He gets overly excited when he sees us, and follows us around constantly. With my dad and sister he's just off in his own space.
My parents are going out of town twice in september, so he'll be here at my new house. HOpefully that will cheer him up.
Sorry kinda long, I just had to let out how bad I feel for breaking his poor heart. I wish my parents would just let me take him here
