I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. They are twice the cost, but I believe they are less demanding of your time when they have another dog to play with. I never found it any harder to take two than to take one. But then I had 6 kids the last rwo were twins, so I guess two dogs seemed like a picnic compared to the kids. LOL
