We had a large 350 cfm if I remember correctly it was the largest that we could get at the time for doing a room, It did a real good job, but was so very noisy, I would move it from room to room. I wanted to get one that is connected with the furnace/ac when we replaced ours but they talked me out of it

next time I am not going to let anyone talk me out of it. When we had them replaced I told them I wanted the attic ducting checked to make sure it was ok, they kept saying naw its fine, well before they left I insisted they check it, good thing, the ducting was all disintegrated (had fallen apart in places)

our home was not that old but the type they used back then didn't hold up, was getting dust from where????right it was being pulled in from the attic area. Eventually I am going to get a whole house type air cleaner, they work when funace/ac or just the fan on only on the thermostat is operating. I think they an electrostatic, anyway hope you are able to get something to help you. When our son was small because of him being asmatic, we installed a built in vacum unit in our home and have used them through all the years, their great. I wouldn't want to be without it.
Absolutely no dust when vacuming in the house, all goes to the large can in the garage. Patti
