Well, I live in America and I don't agree with docking. I think it is completely unnecessary. People over here do it because the "almighty, sacred, standard" calls for it. I always thought God and Mother Nature set the "standards" for all creatures but I guess human beings know better. I also think breders do it not so much for show dogs but because they figure the only way their dogs will be certified is if they follow the standard and no one will buy their dogs otherwise. Personally, all that standard and certification mumbo jumbo is unimportant to me, but it is important to some people. I just wish we had more options in America as to whether we want docked or undocked tails as customers. Most times we are forced to purchase dogs that are altered because they are done so young, by the time we get to buy them, it's too late.
