hmm...I have a boy yorkie so I'm not sure with the spaying but I had 2 beagles spayed and I don't remember a cotton ball or them shaking and they were both small with we got the surgery. I also had them back the same night.
I think you should give her some nutrical. Remember that she has not eaten for a while and lots of warm rest.
