It might not be. I groom a little girl whose ears weren't up at almost a year. Shaved the ears on both sides, and her owner made sure she she shaved them weekly....she's almost 2 now and they've stayed up. The clue is keeping the weight off of them

What I posted might be worth a try. It's what I do when some of my puppies have stubborn ears, due to teething or extra hair weight. I shave the ears before their eyes open, and if ears aren't up by 6 weeks I tape.
