hmm..don't know about a shelter..but I do know of one rescue group that won't consider you at all if you don't have a fenced in yard or if you have kids because they believe it is unsafe for the dogs. I was quite upset. I have 8 acres, plenty of running room for any furbabies! and my kids LOVE animals and my 7 yr old daughter is usually up first and she has fresh food and water down for our furbabies before my hubby and I are even up! Also, we have two large dogs outside that are our watchdogs. It didn't matter that I have a wonderful vet nor did it matter that we treat our dogs as children. My furbabies are sooo spoiled! and they love to run!

I adopted Cannelle (a small Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier, I think backyard breeders refer to them as "Morkies")

They are Morkies if the mother was a Maltese and the father is Yorkie, York-Tese if the mother is a Yorkie and the father is Maltese. I have York-tese puppies on the way.
