 Help! Emma shaking after she eats??
Our new little Yorkie, Emma (9 weeks old, 1 lb. 7oz) had a pretty scary fall this Sunday. While she was on the couch with a friend of ours, she climbed to the very top and jumped off. We heard her hit her little head on our hardwood floors really hard, and she became extremely stiff and appeared to go into a seizure that lasted over a minute. Her mouth was open, she was shaking uncontrollably and she was making very scary sounds. We immediately took her to the ER Vet Service here in Chicago, and the Vet recommended she stay the night for observation. Her temp was a little low (99.2), but after being in an incubator for a few hours it went back up to a little over 100. To say the least, this was extremely scary! We told the Vet we had her on Puppy Stew (wet food) 3 times/day and Nutrical 3x/day. But they said it wouldn't be a problem having her eat their wet food.......now she has been home for 2 days, but has been shaking only after she is done eating her wet food? (And it is definitely not the type of shaking she had when she fell). This is almost like a cold tremble? You should also know that she absolutely LOVES her wet food!! Do you think this is a coincidence and that she is just overly excited? Or do you think this could be related to her seizure she suffered from the fall? Or something else?? Other than the trembling after she's done eating, she's completely fine! What do you think? Please Help! Thanks very much! |
