I think this is the best idea. I agree that this site is about being supportive. There should be no public humiliation. What if there were extenuating circumstances that caused the buyer and/or seller to not be able to follow through with their end of the deal? Then the buyer/seller gets pissed, writes something humiliating without getting the full story, and then the reputation of the buyer/seller is ruined. Even if the rating is ultimately deleted, people would have already seen the comments. That would be terrible
I think the best idea is something private. If you don't trust the person buying/selling the product, then just don't do business with them.
