Fleas are a given this time of the year. i have fought them all summer along with the ticks. My vet recommended the Advantage or the K-9 Advantix. I have had no luck with the latter except it is the only one that works on ticks. Last night i flea combed my little brood and got about six fleas off them. My fleas are the kind of long reddish brown 'hoppers'. I haven't seen any of the black fleas this summer but we had them last year. I have treated their living space with the flea spray but they go outside a lot. My husband says it would do us no good to treat the yard because wy live on a farm and they would still cross the fence line. I also wash mine with Dawn. For about two weeks after I flea treat them, i use a soapless shampoo. it makes the medicine last longer. |
