WOW I am shocked that the UK is more dog friendly than US. I thought it would be the other way around. We went walking with Pip in the Yorkshire dales and ended up at a pub in Redmire and thought nothing of taking him in while we had a drink, like you say dogs are treated like another member of the family.
I think the US sounds great with huge pet stores and puppy kinderkarten and the like so I thought the US was more dog friendly.
I love the story about your phone box Jill. Where I lived in Ripon the row of red phone boxes are still there on the market square.
