it really IS hard watching...you feel like you're on a deathwatch. I hate talking about it - but it is important for anyone who smokes to watch for the signs of COPD....it creeps up on people and most make the mistake of NOT QUITTING the ciggies.
My husband was told he had asthma (he didn't) - and now - it's too late for him -
The severe damage that was done cannot be treated - and the suffering is tremendous. I've never heard him talk about dying till the other day - he was actually wishing he could just get it over with because he struggles so much to get a breath. He's on a transplant list but he won't live to receive it....even if we COULD afford it...which we can't.
It's a nasty soul-sucking disease.
