I put her back in our bedroom in her crate and she did go to sleep..but, she is up every 2 hrs!! She pee pees alot too...Maybe the pee peeing is normal, I can't remember...Sadie is 2 1/2 yrs old and my memory isn't what it used to be...Menopause!! I'm afraid if I leave her to cry in her crate she will end up peeing in her crate especially where she does go everytime she wakes up..Tried this too...ended up pooping in crate..Any advise would be appreciated. I guess we got spoiled with Sadie...She had a 9:00 bedtime everynight, never made a peep, and slept through the night from day one.. |
I guess I was lucky with the potty business.. but as far as the whining and crying. Harley did that too A LOT. So when I started crate training him I put one of my other dogs, Zeus, in his crate right beside him for the first night where he could see him. Then I placed a blanket in between so he could hear and smell him but couldn't see through to bug him or try to play with him. Whenever Harley began crying or whining I just corrected him with a "No" or a clap of my hands to 'snap him back to reality'. This worked great. Now after watching the Dog Whisperer a year after having Harley I realize that my clapping was a perfect idea because it snapped him back to attention and broke his concentration on his crying. Try it and see if it works for your fuzz ball..
