They can be very young and catch on as to what to do.

Since she was bleeding she is not yet in the part of her cycle where she will accept him which is why she was growling and getting mad at him. Keep them seperated from now on, especially the next couple of weeks. If you are not breeding her then get her spayed right away. Keep a close eye on them, when she is in the part of her cycle where she would accept him, they will try everything to get together so you are going to have to keep them in seperate rooms and keep a very close eye on them!!
