Hi, I bought a crate for my 9 week old yorkshire terrier today. I put him in it and he cried himself to sleep. Is this the right thing to do? I have read different things about this. I have put a treat and his favorite toys but after that first experience I fear he will never go in there voluntarily. Should I just continue cleaning up messes and hope one day he will enter the crate on his own or should I put him in the crate and ignore the whining? how long the first time? I really want to do the right thing but if the puppy pees on the floor much more, I fear divorce.
