I have the same thing at my house!! As soon as I open the closet where the sweeper is,,, he LOOSES it!! But, he trys to attack it while Im running it!~
Sometimes I use one hand to push the sweeper and have a squirt bottle in the other,,, cause he wont even let me move it!
