From what I can tell, without touching he looks like he's silk. The one thing I can tell you is that your little boy is your baby and not a show dog. Therefore, he's allowed on grass, carpet, furniture, etc. All of which show people do not allow their yorkies on, they are all bad for growing coat, it breaks the coat.
