Ok... since this has happened to me recently I feel like I should share some stuff... first.. even though they have their shots it does not guarantee they will be immune to this disease ( look at my baby, case in point)... secondly... this virus can be carried on the bottom of your shoes, on your hands ,clothes, purses feet car tires,anywhere... all you can do is try to not go to too many over crowded places where animals hang or un clean areas....it is very hard.. I religiously mop my home 2x a day with clororax and have my outside shoes and inside shows.. I wipe and wash my hands periodically and when Gizmo goes out I watch him like a hawk... it's weird in a way because ever since his sister passed away he won't step foot on the grass at all...I think he senses something.. he just pees the side of the grass... it looks a bit funny... everyone just be careful with yours and for a small fee of 6-10 dollars it doesnt hurt to re vaccinate yours.... vet said after their 1 year it is less likely they will get it but never say never!
